The Real Task Begins
Greetings everyone,
Happy Friday! Now that the writing has been completed, the book has been launched and the sales are slowly trickling in; the next task is the more difficult one in my opinion. Marketing. As the saying goes, “out of the freezer and into the oven” or however that phrase goes. Since I am an indie author, the market is saturated with many of us; and Amazon (a colossal conglomerate and outlet for book publishing and distribution) I am competing with everyone and their mothers.
I don’t have a background in marketing and I am not a fan of advertisements. But in order to get something, you have to give something (whether time, money, or effort); and so, my plan is to set myself apart from the others.
What’s my story? Who am I and why should you read my book?
I’m Spiderman. Just kidding, I am a writer who likes to combine education and entertainment as best I can to create thought-provoking content for my readers who want to discover more about life through my lenses. I offer an oasis (if you will) to a desert landscape that is the fast-paced moving world we live in, of instant gratification, social media likes, and the constant barrage of mediocre entertainment within our fingertips.
And even after you’ve read my works and do not agree with the above statement; then let my words be a respite from your daily task of toiling at work, school, or whatever it is that you consume yourself with every day.
Now, I must develop a concrete marketing plan to attract the masses, or at least strangers who do not know who I am. I guess I can always tell them that I’m the man in the (writer’s) arena and I’m trying to make a living by standing before the dragon that is the debt waiting to swallow me whole.
See ya soon fam,
